HOTEL ASIA PROJECT
Hotel Asia Project’ is an attempt to capture the real of the multi-lingual world we live in today. It contains multiple languages: it tries to present plural world images, which differ from each other according to the language we speak and to the condition we live under, without relying on translation. These different images may, however, share a common material basis for communication; communication after dis-communication. ‘Hotel Asia’ is a project to create new visual and critical languages under the multi-lingual condition.
Under the base concept above and for giving our project in Chongqing, China, we set some sub-themes, hotel, tourism and resort. Those themes include issues of colonialism, economic disparities, leisure, modernization, industrialization, and immigration, etc. in themselves.

We live in society of multi-lingual and, at the same time, we are surrounded by various visual languages such like news images, You Tube movies, advertising photos, sales copies of merchandise and so on. By choosing any of them and combining and editing them, we can reveal hidden background of them and present different context or aspect of them.

THEME PARK
Artists today go well beyond various borders and gain experience economically, politically and culturally. They are travelling around the globe on the web and on flight-lines. This new world provides a comfortable and wonderful life saturated with many commodities produced by global firms, but on the other hand, we observe many cruel circumstances like human trafficking, drug trade, immigrants and refugees etc…
Travel and the moving would be an important experience in a dangerous or attractive world like Disneyland.
Artists translate or transcode information from one format to another and create new pathways between multiple types of communication. By this, new critical space may occur and be further developed.
